Just above the dunes on a beautiful beach in Freswick, Caithness lies a hidden treasure, The home of a well loved Viking, Skeggi.
Around 1014 Skeggi made his home on the Dunes of Thasvick (Freswick) beach, Mentioned in the Viking Sagas, Skeggi’s was the place to go after your long trips at sea or your raids, nothing beats a good soak in a viking bath house after raiding a village or months at sea!
Skeggi loved to look after his fellow Vikings, using handmade soap, and hanging flowers or herbs for fragrace that he forraged from the beach and surrounding areas, he kept the vikings who came to Katanes (Caithness) clean, well fed and ready for their next adventure.
